Hazeldene Community Action Group
On 7 February 2009, over 200 dwellings, of nearly 300, in Hazeldene, were destroyed. Flowerdale lost five. Hazeldene can honestly say it is the forgotten town of the Black Saturday Bushfires, being used, solely, as a conduit for Flowerdale to redevelop itself without a need to explain why. The Hazeldene Community Action Group was formed with the aim of allowing the people of Hazeldene to have a voice in the recovery process, something which has been denied them, to date.
